In 2021, Sinapis collaborated with Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and DHL Express to bring the Road to Growth programme to Kenya for the first time. Road to Growth Kenya is an innovative capacity building programme that leverages technology to build the business development skills of women entrepreneurs. The project uses a combination of two tools: a micro-learning mobile app and a digital learning tool. The overall aim is to increase the business management and financial literacy skills of women entrepreneurs, and empower them to grow profitable and sustainable businesses, ultimately promoting their long-term economic independence.
Since its inception in Kenya, the programme has trained more than 200 women entrepreneurs in Kenya with 82% reporting improved business performance. It has also supported more than 5,000 women through the mobile learning app, HerVenture. In 2022, the programme will continue to support women in Kenya on their journey to grow profitable businesses through the Road to Growth training programme and also offer business mentorship to Road to Growth participants, including Leadership, Influencing and Advocacy.
The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women wrote a fantastic recap of the program that includes metrics, stories, and how they believe the programme was a success.
